RE 60 Bajaj's four-wheeler autorickshaw

The Nano competitor: Bajaj Auto today unveiled a mini four wheeler - RE 60 - for intro-city urban transportation targeting three wheeler customers on the eve of the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi.

The ultra low-cost car was first scheduled to hit the roads in India in 2011, but was delayed due to differences between the partners on pricing and design.

The company, which had in 2008 showcased a concept small car but decided not to go ahead with the project, will launch the RE60 later this year.

The RE60 is powered by a 200 cc rear mounted petrol engine and is said to have a top speed of 70 Km/h with a mileage of 35 kmpl.
High fuel efficiency and lower emissions are the key factors on which the company is banking on to make its foray into the car segment a success.

The interiors get a central speedometer cluster, folding front windows, 44-litre boot space, 95-litre under seat storage and prominent seatbelts in cabin.

This four-wheeler gets a digital twin spark tech engine. It is also available in fuel injected CNG variant.
